12 November Disaster Education Preparation Day (12.11.2024)

The Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute has been continuously enhancing its public education programs for 25 years for the reduction of earthquake and tsunami damages, with its scientific infrastructure and expertise. These programs aim to increase public awareness and preparedness, utilizing a solid foundation of research and data accumulated over decades of scientific work.

Our Geodesy Department Academician Prof. Dr. Semih Ergintav and Geophysics Department Academicians' Article Published in Science Magazine

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Semih Ergintav, Head of the Department of Geodesy, his article titled "Unexpected far-field deformation of the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes revealed by space geodesy" was published in the world's most respected scientific journal Science.

Workshop: "Exchange of Knowledge and Expertise in the Field of Astronomy" (11.09.2024)

On September 11, 2024, at the Astronomy workshop held at the B.U. Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute with the participation of academicians from the University of Malaya Malaysia and researchers and students from various observatories in Malaysia, astronomy studies carried out in both countries were shared and views were exchanged.

Graduation Ceremony (04.07.2024)

On July 4, 2024, at the graduation ceremony held jointly by Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Institute of Environmental Sciences and the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute at the Fatin Gökmen Conference Hall on the Kandilli campus, 5 PhD and 10 Master's students from the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute graduated and received their diplomas.
