A Visit to Our Institute from METU Northern Cyprus Campus AFMER and the KTMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers

Our Institute hosted representatives from the Disaster Management and Research Center (AFMER), operating under the Middle East Technical University (METU) Northern Cyprus Campus, and the Union of the Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects (KTMMOB) Chamber of Civil Engineers. In the meeting held between our Institute Director Prof. Dr. Özer Çinicioğlu and the delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ekinci, President of the KTMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers; opportunities for scientific and technical cooperation that can be developed between the institutions in the fields of earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, climate change, and disaster preparedness were comprehensively evaluated. The visit is intended to lay the groundwork for long-term scientific and technical collaborations.

As part of the visit program, the delegation visited the Astronomy Laboratory, Regional Earthquake and Tsunami Monitoring Center, Earthquake Park, Meteorology Laboratory, and the Observatory History of Science Building within our Institute, receiving information regarding the ongoing research and activities.
