TUBITAK & JST J-RAPID Workshop (10-11 June 2024)

B.Ü. Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute (KOERI) hosted the TÜBİTAK & JST J-RAPID Workshop on June 10-11, 2024.

The results of 10 projects funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) J-RAPID Collaborative Research / Survey Program for Emergency Research, conducted jointly by Turkish and Japanese researchers, were presented at the workshop.

Within the scope of the projects, the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes were evaluated in depth in terms of seismology, earthquake engineering, damage analyses and damage mechanisms, and recovery studies. Scientists from leading universities and institutions in the fields of earth sciences, earthquake engineering and health sciences, such as Boğaziçi University, KOERI, Istanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University, Gebze Technical University, TED University, Health Sciences University, TÜBİTAK and Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo University, Tohoku University, Hiroshima University, Ehime University, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, attended the meeting and discussed the research results.

A technical visit was organized to the centers and laboratories under the KOERI after the workshop.
